Aidan Soliano: When It All Began

I have a feeling that most of my posts will be about Aidan. But that's because I'm obsessed with him. So, you've been warned.

We had about a year after tying the knot before Aidan was conceived. We weren't the type of couple who would do a "family-planning" kind of thing and then one day, decide that we're going to have a baby! But I won't lie to you that I was pretty damn worried why I was still not pregnant.

Apparently, I had a prolapsed uterus. It's a condition where my uterus dropped somewhere into my vaginal canal. Anyway, I went for a massage treatment to fix this. The masseuse told me to "try" and make a baby that same night. I didn't happen because I was exhausted from the massage itself. We did try the following night and I made sure that was the only time we tried. I just had to, on purpose because it was the only way to know if the massage really works and if we've found what our problem was.

True enough. It did work! Like magic. My period had always been regular. Never early or late for more than two days. So when I didn't get my period on the day I should according to my M.Cycles calendar app, I got agitated. I told DS about doing a self-check at home but he insisted that I wait for two weeks. TWO WEEKS. Are you friggin' kidding me?!

So the next day, I bought two pregnancy test kits; the digital one and the non-digital one. I had to be sure. I sneakily tested with the digital one that weekend, Saturday morning, two days after my supposedly period that never came. First pee, they said. And I waited. It was nerve-wrecking! I waited longer than 3 minutes before I was ready to take a look at the result. The first thing I said to myself as I stared at the tiny screen showing a clear Pregnant 3+ was, "I knew it! I never doubted my period cycle." And there it was, a small little thing called ClearBlue telling me I was pregnant.

Woke DS up and showed him the test. He still insisted that I waited for a couple more weeks, just to be sure, so that I don't get upset if I wasn't actually pregnant. Yeah whatever. So I did another self-test a few days later. Same result. But it was the blood test at the clinic on the following Monday that confirmed it. "You are definitely pregnant.", said the doctor. "4 weeks pregnant."

That was the start to my beautiful journey towards motherhood.
