A New Chapter: Quit My Job

I quit my job of 3 years and served my last day of employment earlier this week. Why I left? Better offer, of course. Frankly, BETTER PAY.

Five years ago, I would change jobs for these reasons: to find my "passion", climb up the career ladder, better opportunities, sick of being mundane, all those bullshits. Now, it's all about the moolah. I need $$$ to sustain and I don't feel bad about it. I would love a little bit more money to give my son a comfortable life and good food. After all, my life now is all about him and whatever decision I make revolves around him.

I have a couple of friends telling me that they hate working jobs that they are not passionate about. Honey, who does?! I would be lucky if I know what my passion is. I would be more than ecstatic if I have whatever skill it takes to quit a job that pays me a fixed salary every month and do whatever the hell I'm passionate about.

But let's be serious, dear friends. If you're just starting out this whole "career" path, I repeat, "just starting", stick to whatever decent job you're at now for a couple of years until you're "okay" to go pursue that passionate dream of yours. Because if you ain't got the money, you can't even start that dream, honey. Baby steps. Think it this way: Do it for your dream.

As for me, I think I'm ready to begin the next chapter of my life. It's time to move on.
